Privacy Policy

BOO ("we", "our", "us") operates the BOO mobile application and the boo.com.iq website (collectively, "BOO" or "the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use BOO:

• Account information: your name and phone number, provided when you create an account or place an order.
• Delivery location: the address you select for order delivery. If you choose to use the map feature, we collect your device's location only at the time you select an address. We do not track your location in the background.
• Order history: the products you purchase, when, and from which shops, so we can show your order history and process returns.
• Device information: a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used to send you transactional push notifications (order updates, delivery alerts). This token is linked to your account but is not used for advertising or tracking.
• Communications: if you contact our support team, we keep records of those communications.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to operate the Service:

• To authenticate you (OTP login via your phone number)
• To process and deliver your orders
• To send transactional notifications (order placed, dispatched, delivered)
• To respond to support requests
• To prevent fraud and comply with our legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling for marketing, or any form of cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following service providers to operate BOO. These providers process information only on our behalf and only to deliver the service:

• Google Firebase (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — push notification delivery
• Cloudflare R2 — secure file storage (product images, user avatars)
• ZeptoMail — transactional email delivery
• Google Maps Platform — map display for delivery address selection

Each of these providers has its own privacy practices. We do not authorize them to use your information for their own purposes.

4. Tracking and Advertising

BOO does not track users across other apps or websites. We do not integrate advertising SDKs, attribution SDKs, or analytics services that fingerprint users. We do not share your information with data brokers.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting support (see Section 8). After deletion, we retain limited records only where required by Iraqi law (for example, financial transaction records).

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted database storage, HTTPS for all network communication, secure password hashing, and time-limited authentication tokens.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent at any time
